A great animal to study is the Carrier Pigeon service in both world wars.
It was amazing what these animals did.

I'm guessing you either want to know about animals that survived the World Wars or were in the service in the World Wars.

There should be some somewhere...just do a search. I know for a fact that dogs, horses, pigeons, and I think at least one cat have earned medals during wartime. I think it was WWII but I'm not sure.
