Money. People pay thousands of dollars to marry a U.S. citizen and people are able to take advantage of these immigrants by making them support them financially while their married. People basically get a free ride.

My best friend's cousin asked me to marry him for 3,000 dollars. Not only did I not think that was enough money, but marriage is a pretty serious thing. And when I got married for real and had to answer the question on the marriage certificate "What number marriage is this?" I wanted it the say "1".

Well if your a shy person and kind of quiet the reason is the women are more better. They have better morals and not soooo idealistic. Majority of the women here in CA have babies and expect the right man to come after their third child. They like these weird thuglike guys who use TV as their role models and have no manners, cavemen.. well think about it..

They had a story about marriages of convenience, where people
were getting married just to get into the country, then they parted ways. It was a scam, one more thing that should be looked at in the greater context of immigration reform.

This is what some of my friends tell me: Filipino girls are the sweetest in the world. They are servile, good looking, adore their husbands, love their children and families, are modest, are soft spoken, are obedient, are loyal, live only to make their husbands happy. Now if you were a man would you not want a wife with those qualities? I rest my case.

I had a boyfriend that was "married" to a pretend wife so he could get a green card. I was not happy when I found out but he wanted to live here. They have to fraud the Govt. basically and could go to jail. When he pissed me off, I really thought about reporting him but couldn't.

I think it belittles the sacredness of marriage. I also think it belittles our immigration process. I think so many people come here through legitimate channels and it's disheartening that someone is willing to sell themselves in marriage. None of it feels good to me. I would never do it.
