He promised only strength to withstand it and love and compassion. Do you ask for deliverance from suffering or do you ask "God what are you trying to teach me? What can I learn from these trials?

No we are not to sit by while others needlessly suffer nor to actively cause suffering. We are called to alleviate suffering when we can and to accept that which we do not understand.

I ask that his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I understand that life is often hard and full of pain but he has a plan. I have to have faith in his plan and find peace with him.<>< God bless

There is promises from Jesus ending suffering.

We are indeed living in the last days.
If the Kingdom of God doesn't not take over in my lifetime, it for sure will in the lifetime of my kids.

Soon, a peaceful earth with no suffering, starving and sickness will be here.

Following are two promises by Jesus. One directly from him, and one through an apostle

Mat 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

2Pe 3:13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Debra nice to see you here. He said He would wipe away all tears in Revelation 21:4. Tears would of course come from emotions. Grief and suffering comes from being distant from the Lord and of course and especially the the truths that He teaches. Just another verse in revelation that shows that the truth will draw up to the world closer and closer.

It is all intuitive unless your confirmed atheist or a naturalist of course.

I agree. The best lessons I've learned in life came from the most painful ones. I have compassion for those who are suffering, but I understand the good that comes from it.

Yup.. we have have to suffer a little.. to live and learn. It's not hard really.. drink water, get lots of sun.. enjoy the breeze.

But how can we ? When millions of people around the world are suffering? Do we just sit by and comment?.. We don't even lift a finger!

So we tune it out and preten it doesn't happen.. just so we can live our lives.

Debra M -

Dogmatic belief in withstanding the tribulations of life is unfortunately indisputable. Rational discourse demands asking why a benevolent and all powerful god would demand obeisance and would cause suffering.

I ask all those questions. However, the Apostle Paul taught Believers that they could also have victory, triumph, protection, power and miracles, despite the suffering.

Don't stay in the pain. Learn how to have victory!

James chapter 1 v 3 says

When your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
