C. “but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.” (but is guilty of an eternal sin-Mark 3:29)
What is blasphemy of the Spirit? Because of the surrounding text and how close the Pharisees seem to be to this sin, some infer that it is taking what God has done and ascribing it to Satan (Ellicott). In addition it is “willfully and impiously rejecting and reviling what the blasphemer know in his own conscience to be the testimony of the Holy Spirit and God’s truth and grace” (Gray). It is also defiant irreverence against the Spirit (Hendriksen). It is a sin that “is so fundamental that it potentially touches, affects and includes all the others, so that to fail in regard to it is to cut oneself off from all possibility of forgiveness” (Fowler). This is the only sin for which forgiveness cannot be granted. People might ask what makes this sin so unforgivable. It is because “a man in this frame of min just cannot repent”(Fowler). This is not something that in born in a person, or even something natural; it is something that develops overtime. It is a person continuously denying good as good and evil as evil (Fowler).

XIII. Matt 12:32
A. “And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him;”
Barnes suggests that this would be an attack on Jesus from the human point of view, where He was born, his poverty, and “the Lowliness of this human nature.” These were all things that Jesus was able and willing to forgive the Pharisees for. To speak a word means “to utter a statement” as the Pharisees had just done (Lenski). This is what the Apostle Paul had done. He had spoken against Jesus and, after he turned from his ways, found forgiveness in Christ (Boles). This is for when a person does not recognize that Jesus was the Messiah and they are not intending to blaspheme the Spirit and His power, because this person can grow in knowledge and repent (Cook).
B. “but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit,”
The parallel that is drawn here shows that the Holy Spirit is a person (Lenski). In the Greek the word “Holy” is placed in such a place that there is an emphasis put on it (Broadus). Some sins that Fowler puts as close to speaking against the Holy Spirit are quenching, grieving, or resisting the Spirit. He says, in these sins a Christian is hardening his or her heart against the Spirit and, while these sins are not unpardonable, can lead to this sin. Barnes adds that this probably refers to speaking against the divine nature of Christ.

There are a few ways inwhich the Holy Spirit can be Blasphemed against:

1)Refusing to repent of one's own sinfulness. Remaining obstinent.
2)Presumption in one's own Salvation. Example: Saying that because I am a Christian, I therefore get a free pass to go to Heaven. or because I am Muslim, I get a free pass into Heaven.
3)Despair in one's own sinfulness. Rather than ask God to forgive the sin that is committed, the person decides to reject God altogether.
5)Envy of the Spiritual Goods given to another person. Rather than acknowledging the Holiness of another person, that person is ridiculed at.

There's a couple of others, but, those are the only ones I can think of right now.

Its attributing Jesus's miracles to Satan. Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is not cursing him but discrediting him and rejecting him. Without God's spirit there is no way to enter heaven.

The Holy Spirit has several important ministries here on earth: to call unbelievers to repentance; to teach believers how to pray; to indwell believers; and to assist with spiritual gifts, particularly prophecy. However, when Jesus spoke about the "unforgivable sin," He was undoubtedly referring to the Holy Spirit's first ministry.

Think about it: all Born Again believers are guaranteed forgiven; God says their past, present and future sins are as far as east is from west, never to be called to mind again. The sins of unbelievers will never be forgiven, because they refuse to heed the Holy Spirit, despite His urging that we turn to God. So this is the unforgivable sin: lack of respect for the Holy Spirit's ministry; to refuse the Holy Spirit is to refuse God. What a terrible sin!

Peace.

Read in Luke when Jesus is talking about being delivered up to the false christ to testify for Christ. If a person refused to do this they will never be forgiven. Also we are not to think about what we are to say.

It happens every day on this form by some atheists, naturalists and so-called agnostics. Trying to tear down the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord.

to say that God uses evil to do miracles. when it is by the Holy Spirit.

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
