Gays and Lesbians?

Question

I'm wondering why it is that Islam is so hateful and hostile to gay people? And what happens to gay and lesbian members of your faith. Do they hide? Modern medical science and mental health professionals say gays and lesbian adults are essentially normal and natural.

Wow, so much hate has been shown here. People hate what is different and since homosexuality is different to many people it is a hated thing. Someone stated that homosexuality does not exist in nature when in fact it does. The Benobo chimpanzee is one example of a species where sexual contact between members of the same sex is well known and accepted by the entire group. Many other species, from birds to primates to canine or fish display aspects of homosexuality. Someone else is trying to show homosexuality as a medical condition like a disease that can be cured. It's just the way some people are. You can't change someones orienatation just like you can't change your eye colour. It is the way you are born. Homosexuality was removed from the DSM because the scientists and psychiatrists came to realize it was a normal aspect of human sexuality.

To get back to the question, most religions originally had bans against any differences from the norm, be it sexuality or anything else. Their beliefs were tempered by a need to have their religion spread and grow. As gay people can't reproduce, they cannot fulfill their responsibility of siring more children to expand the religion. This is the same reasoning that was used to set up prohibitions against premarital and extramarital sex. Both of these are acts that pull people away from their faith.
But to say that all Muslims, or all Christians are against homosexuality is an over simplification. Both religions teach that it is not for us to judge, but for God. Many people and sects have come to accept that homosexuality is a normal aspect of the diverse species that is human.

It's the whole world, the united states is practically the only country that accepts gays and lesbians a little. But Islams hate them because it's wrong! God created two sexes, and that's not to mate the same sex! Oh and did u know that some say that Homosexuals created this AID virus? Now why do you think Islamic people don't have AID's or other viruses in such ways...? You'll get it.

And it's a sin to their religion to be a homosexual. And they kill them because they don't want them to spread around and mess up everyone. And who said homo's are natural? That's waaaay outta the line!

Here's my opinion... and I'm not the only one who thinks this way, most scientist do as well. Homo's have a disease, there depressed yet they don't know it, so it has nothing to do with genes!!

And that's my little saying from other people's ideas I've heard from.

I have no answer but I do have a fun true statement. These Mental health professionals use a Book Called DSM which stands for (DIAGNOSTIC AND STATISTICAL MANUAL OF MENTAL DISORDERS) Until revision four homosexuality was listed as a psycosexual disorder.

Once society started to accept homosexuality then it was no longer a disorder because it was OK with everybody. This is fine and dandy. But art reflects life in the Mental Health Field. I'm not sure they have come very far in the last 200 years.

If their normal, and its natural, why can`t they naturally or normally have children, without cheating, or going against nature, which would be using artifical means to have a baby? And if their is a medical reason why they are homosexual, why don`t they get medical treatment?...this answer is not about hating homosexuals, or anyone else. Its just that homosexuals keep saying christians can`t except the fact that their gay, well what I can`t except that you say its natural, but if it is then why can`t you reproduce the natural way.

Unfortunately, there are alot of religions that don't embrace modern science as truth. Its not just Islam. Although I've never heard of a Gay Muslim, I am sure they exist.

It's not that believers in Chirst are anti-gay, it's that you are anti-Christ. Heck, anyone with any moral fiber knows that God did not create man to pump man in the backend!!! It's against creation.

What you call OK is incredibly immoral. But you're so far down the ladder, you don't see right and wrong. Evil people don't see themselves as evil.

People of faith in Christ would not cast you out, if you admitted you needed help.

The problem is: you say you are OK and God is OK with it. And...you press against holy things like marriage and seek to corrupt society so that your ways are considered good and those who oppose are considered evil.

They exist, but only in the most liberal sects and areas are they welcomed in their religion. The Islam seems to be more of a cultural thing for those who come out.
