Why is that so?
Maybe because Avatars expresses your mood... or maybe because It represents you in some ways...?
It's just that everyone has a specific reason for using avatars...

Sorry to disappoint you, but yes you look like a sunflower. That is an opinion. You should not take it to heart, or if you do, maybe you are the insecure one and need to do something about it.
And yes, if you were seen on the street, people would make fun of your looks. So if you set yourself up, you get ova it!

certain. i'm an previous woman who wears glasses and has an same haircut. I want the nurse avatar had the alternative of gray hair. i'm a retired nurse and perceive with that avatar, in spite of the undeniable fact that it looks too youthful without gray hair. lol
