Not at all! The pit is my favorite breed! My first one was the sweetest thing! She loved everything! My one now is very protective but she is a great family dog. I love them dearly and know that either one would give their life for me and my family. I hate all of those people who give them a bad rep because of the stories they hear it's such a discusting stereotype! I feel more people should just give the breed a chance and see what they are really like. It justs hurts so much that when I tell people I have a pit they're like, "Oh isn't that a nasty dog?!" They should really learn more about them. Its the same thing with a lot of things. I just hope people in the future can learn to like them and accept them. Its really their owners that are the bad evil people that think its fun hurt other dogs and make the pit seem the evil one when its not. The people who think pits are evil need to rethink.

Pitbulls are amazing canines in the event that they have the ultimate proprietors. the challenge is that persons handle them like they seem to be a Lab or a Golden Retriever. they're severe energy, effectual and athletic. they're merely hassle-free physically powerful. they're an fairly dominant, headstrong breed, so training them isn't as ordinary as education a Lab. If anybody does not notice of person-friendly a thank you to deal with a breed like this, the canines is left untrained. Then the canines does what any untrained canines might do: injury fixtures, chew persons, get out of the backyard and attempt against with different doggies or attack persons. The exchange is that pitbulls are much greater waiting of wounding anybody. they're additionally plenty harder to coach. So are they risky canines? No, yet human beings ought to notice of that merely given which you would be able to coach a Golden Retriever, it does not recommend which you will coach a pitbull.

It is not their fault that they are naturally mean dogs. They were specially breed to be just that..... Mean dogs. It is in their nature to be vicious and even tho you may have a pit bull that seems to be lovable they sometimes snap and go into an aggressive rage.... whether for good cause or not it is just in their nature to do so.
I know this because through out my whole life I have been around dogs of all breeds and pit bulls are the most unpredictable dogs I have ever handled. I seen it where for many years a neighbor owned a blue which was very docile with everyone and everything. He never hardly barked and was very gentle. He ran freely around in his fenced yard and the kids would play with him. Then one day, the dog just snapped and killed all the other pets in the yard and brutally attacked the female that he mated many times before. The dog was so violent and in a frenzy that my neighbors kids stayed in the house until their dad came home and we had to help him to subdue his dog. A few days later, the dog seemed to settle down but still had that mean look in his eyes and was never let loose again. That dog seemed to have lost it completely and stayed tied up until it died.
So please be careful.... this not the only time I have seen this happen. It happened many times before.
Good Luck

Dogs are what we have made them. Both good and bad. The pit breed has been bred to be an aggressive and mean dog. I know that not all of them are. They are beautiful dogs. But sadly, it's the 'family pet' that usually ends up turning.
I don't agree at all with the new law though. Pits should be allowed to live, but should be required to live with experienced handlers.
Your Pits sound gorgeous.

I think Pits are great they can be a handful and require responsible care.Do you understand dog behavior? Your aggressive dog is probably " The pack leader" In reality YOU have to be the pack leader ,especially with powerful dogs. Are you familiar with Cesar Millan " The Dog Whisperer" He is a pit lover too.The guy is an amazing behavior specialist. He has a T.V.show on The National Geographic channel that is must see for dog lovers, Watch and Learn. Friday evening Saturdy morning

i don't believe them all to be dangerous dogs, but unfortunately a vast majority of the public believe the propaganda about pits being viscious and whatever; they hear something and believe it instead of finding out the truth. There will always be a lot more of these sheep-type people who believe anything they have heard - like the "conspiracy" theories (regarding 911/osama) going round at the moment...well not to stray off the subject...I have been around pits and bully breeds my whole life and never had a prob - that is apart from the way I am treated differently for having these dogs, but I only feel sorry for those small minded people who are not in the know.

No! Dogs aren't born bad, they become that way for many reasons... Is the agressive one a male or female(either way, it should be neutered). Is it agressive towards people or just other dogs? Do they get regular exercise outside of your yard? Dogs get stressed just like people if they can't get out. Have they been socialized? There are people who can help you if the agression is a problem (which you should consider it a problem due to the strength of the breed). Ceaser Milan specializes in "pit problems" , so you might want to look him up on the web.

Every breed may have a bad seed just like people, I suppose some breeds are bread for a particular reason or purpose but i do strongly believe it is how a dog is brought up as to how its temperament will be (this is my opinion only I don't expect everyone to agree) I am not suggesting you can change their personality just their temperament. Maybe the aggressive one of your dogs needs special attention or training to help fit in with the other dogs.

Its all about the owner . Some chain them and don't socialize them . Or "breed" with the aggresive ones from the litter .

Some dogs are just mean. I don't think their bad dogs though. Some are trained to be mean. If you have an aggressive dog you could take it to dog school.
