This will go on for about one week. but each day gets easier. Go for a walk, go exercise, just keep busy if you can. I quit cold turkey because my son started to smoke so I didn't really have any choice. But I think the cravings just pissed me off so I didn't let them bother me. And since they're talking about raising the taxes from .17 a pack to .97 a pack, that would piss me off too.

do an internet search for ideas on coping with cravings
if you havent tried a patch or gum, you could try that- talk to the pharmacist if you have questions
if that all fails, you can get a prescription from your doctor for bupoprion (its an antidepressant), thats suppose to help ease cravings. there is also a new drug called chantix that there is a lot of hype about but from studies ive read and reading the package insert its not all that much better than taking an antidepressant. you really need to want to quit though if youre going to quit, if youre going at it half assed youll likely fail

If they still had those candy cigarettes, those might help ( I loved those things when I was little! They were really just those "Lik A Stik" things, except shaped like cigarettes and kids used to light one end and pretend to smoke... oh how times have changed... anyone else remember those?? I know I'm not crazy)

when you want to quit smoking you don't drop the it immedietly.. you must drop it slowly give your body time to produce the natural chemicals that was lost when you were smoking..
count how many time you sticks you smoke a day then reduce it one stick per day
