That's kind of like the ostrich with it's head in the sand isn't it?

Wow. A little touchy, aren't we? Some of you anyhow? Well, like I said somewhere else a litlle while ago, maybe the "atheists" should get their own category. I mean, yeah, we Christians would really miss you and everything. But you have to admit, not having a religion can hardly be considered a religion. That's why I tend to think that you aren't really "atheists."

Why do we believe Alexander the great existed, we can't see him? Why do we believe there was an empire called Babylon, we can't see him? Why do we believe there was Socrates?

The point I want to make is, we know the have existed because some witnesses wrote it down. So did the apostles and the writers of the Bible. They wrote down what they have witnessed.

God exist because witnesses have witness it in the personification of Jesus.

I think people are afraid of the unknown. Some people don't believe in God, because they are afraid of restrictions. You can't do this or that. Others don't believe in God, because of the bad experiences they had or have seen or attribute to God. Why did God let so many people die? Why did God let my father, mother, sister die? God could have helped him or her out of the plane crash or from the cancer.
Why so many wars? Why did God not eradicate the devil?

Do you have to proof God's existence? Proof the breath you take ever second of your life. Where is it coming from and where does it go? Can you proof that?

The answer lies in faith. Believe in something that you can not see but you have the assurance that it's there.
It's like going in a plane and you believe you will reach your destiny. But do you know the pilot is a trained pilot? Have you see him in training? Do you know for sure he is not a terrorist or a hijacker?
It comes from faith.

God did not let us wonder if He exists. We are here aren't we? Didn't He wrote everything down in a book called the Bible? Yes He did. He even predicted the history of the world. He wrote in the era of Babylon that after Babylon there will be Medio-Persia and Greece and Roman empire before the empires existed.

I believe in a loving God who is powerful and almighty. The thing is there is also Satan who wants to destroy every single person on this planet. Satan doesn't know boundaries and friends. It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not, He wants to kill you because you were made in the image of God his enemy.

Another point is that we have freedom of choice. A God who in His love made us free to love or don't love Him. So when you chose not to love Him, He respects that.

Last point we all have a conscience. When you do something you know that it is wrong or good. You feel it. Some people ignore it so much they can't distinguish right from wrong anymore. God even put that so you might chose to do either right or wrong.

I respect every person whether atheist or Muslim or every human being, but remember that there is no excuse for the actions you make whether it right or wrong. Everyone has to give account on every act, word and thought he or she makes.

That would be like an ostrich but I believe that there are true Atheists and therefore they aren't ignoring anything. It is one thing not to believe, but the important part is if you believe there is a God and then rejecting His Son's sacrifice on the cross. That is where judgment comes in.

Pimpster: Your incredulity is not an explanation...merely a statement about your own ignorance.

Atheists have no more to fear from your god than you have to fear from Zeus or Ra. It's that simple. If Christians weren't trying so hard to get their religious dogmas validated by law and politics, you'd hardly hear a peep from us.

Edit: Sheesh...another of those "You atheists secretly believe in God...really, you do!" people. You don't get it, do you? We are all atheistic to a degree. Atheists just believe in one less god than you do.

This is a good question for a coolness believer, those which Jesus will spit out of his mouth if he ever exist. But considering that god is not even a hypothesis, because a hypothesis needs to be tested, and god or a fairy, are just beliefs not unquestionable facts. So, I think believers should live their lives with Damocles swords and live the agnostic and atheist be free, without masters and without gods!

That would be a no. Why would they try to escape judgment by something they do not believe in? The only one that can decide if what someone is doing with their beliefs is right or wrong is that person

Is it true that religious people are trying to escape reality?
Just because you believe it, doesn't make it real.

The Easter Bunny doesn't exist if I don't believe in him.

Prove that your god exists before trying to push this bs on other people.

im catholic. im supposed to believe in god. i dont. why is that? why do people think there is a god? its because they dont know how to explain something. thats what our ancestors used to do, and we all still do it. all "atheists" are are people who are looking for a logical explaination for things we say that god is totally responsible for.

on the subject of "evolution" that most catholics disagree with, it is possible for it to be completely by chance. think about it- all conditions must be perfect, right? a good atmosphere, moderate temperature, exact positioning of earth from the sun, and evolution from bacteria to humans... its all possible, even by chance. the universe is almost infinite, so those one-in-a-trillion chances are bound to happen somewhere. why are we all here on earth? because this is one of those few, yet existant, places where life can survive.

as i said, i am a catholic. i used to think god was the true reason of existance. he still may be. i may just be hellbound. i dont care. catholics have their reasons, atheists have theirs. everyone is going to have to DEAL WITH IT.

Contrary to popular opinion, we don't
face judgement when we die.
We face God's judgement each time
we're born.

Every energy form shows up in a genetic
situation of which it's a part.

No, I'm not trying to escape eternal damnation! I live a good life! It's the fear Christians impose on me that make me not believe! Everytime I think about going to Hell because I don't believe in God, I think that's a wrong reason to believe in God! I live a good life, but because I don't believe in a God who wont show his face, I'm going to Hell??? **** that fear tactic! I wont convert out of fear of Hell! I will only believe in his existence if they stop saying "You must follow blindly because if you don't you're going to Hell" and if God shows his God damned face!

"Eternal judgment"?
I will immediately switch to Christianity if you can prove that God exists, and that he will be there to "judge" us.
Of course, you can't....that's why I'm an Atheist.
