When I was younger I was even afraid to tell my mom that I had even started my period. About 6 months to a year after I had started she asked me and I lied and said "yes, I started, you don't remember...I told you". I know it was stupid, but I didn't have a very "talkative" relationship with my mom. I know how you feel, but if you think something is wrong you really need to tell her.

First, how old are you? are you sexually active and could you be pregnant? You need to talk with a gyn to find out if there is something causing you're non-flow. I am sorry you feel the way you do, but I understand. I too was embarassed about my periods. Take a deep breath and talk to your mom.

are you sexually active? could you be pregnant? then you should talk to her right away. Dont wait.
If you are physically active and just started your period, it could be normal to have abnormal periods.
If you dont feel comfortable talking to your mom, write her a note or send an email.

If you don't think your pregnant, then don't worry, but if you think you may be pregnant you need to talk to her. Just be honest with her and tell her what has been going on. Honesty is the best policy and she should support whatever is going on with your body. If she doesn't, at least she knows and you can find other help. Good luck.

You need to be able to talk to your mom about anything. If something is wrong don't be afraid to tell her. She will understand and be there to help you. Every girl goes through this process and there is absolutely nothing at all to be embarrassed about. Tell her all of your fears and concerns.

I'm sure your mother would want you to share this information with her. It's normal to not be regular for awhile after you first begin having periods but there's no one better than your mother to share your concerns with.
