The classes at Petsmart are only about $100 for 8 weeks.

What are you trying to train her to do? If it's basic obedience, then you start w/ the basics...a 6ft lead and a properly fitted training collar. Then, contact your local kennel club or your vet to find a class. The best thing you can do for your dog, though, it walk her EVERY day for at least 45 minutes. Goldens are working dogs and they need a job to do, so perhaps after basic training you might begin agility, search and rescue or therapy dog work... Good luck!!!

u have to make it fun for her so she thinks it's all a game. with housbreaking rub her nose in the spot that she "goes" in when it's insid bop her on the nose for going in the house then put her outside directly after. she'll get the hang o it. for hunting- get a fur of whatever animal that u want her to hiunt and then play with her with it. for retrieving- get some balls and/or somthing fuzzy or feathery and throw it, then she may not bring it back to u or wont let go of it, bop her again fro doing this. u dont have to bop her hard just enough the first couple times that she yelps, the other times it doesnt really need to hurt her cause she'll feel bad about it. for " come" and other simple camands- get a dog whistle and blow it, if she comes then play with her l;ike crazy saying good girl in little baby voice, the crazier u get ther more she'll love it. other comands wait till she is doing what u want her do say the camand then play with her like crazy again with the praises.

Repition and postive rewards. (i.e. treats and praise) It takes a bit of work, but as long as you're patient it should work out fine...puppies are easier to train, if it's older it may be quite a challenge, actually. I've never trained a dog older than a year.
