i know i probably sound really stupid right now, but im not sure what it means. does it mean you hit 3rd base, or you just stop going further, or what? thanks for helping me with my stupidity :)

It means that your just talking to each other and getting to know each other before you move farther on up the chain. It is a good thing to do before you dive into any relationship.

Going Steady does not mean 3rd. base..it means that you are going out with one person. He likes you and you like him.

Going steady is a high school term for dating. At least it was when I was in high school. If you've hit third base and you don't know what this means, you need to SLOW DOWN. Obviously you're not ready.

It's more like second. You go from being a "him and me" or an "I" to a "we". In which case, you do just about everything together.

I think it just means that you are dating exclusively; neither of you is dating someone else.
