Yes, to be saved means to be saved from eternal judgment.

Being 'born again' is another term but explains it from a different angle

In John chapter 3 it says Flesh gives birth to flesh and spirit gives birth to spirit

We are born naturally - in the flesh, but when we are born spiritually then our spirit is reborn

Hope this helps.

I understand what you are asking and why. But a cross reference scripture to that is Mark 16:16. He that believetha dn is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Also, Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It does not say, whoever calls upon the name of the Lord and is baptized will be saved.

Also, how do you explain the thief on the cross. At the crucifixion he asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus entered His kingdom. Jesus told him " Today thou shall be with me in Paradise". He didn't tell the thief, okay well first you have to get off the cross and be baptized before you go to heaven.

Baptism is merely our way of identifying with Christ. It is our first opportunity to show others that we are saved and that we are not ashamed of our salvation. It is our first public profession of our faith.

I agree with John C. If we had to be baptized that would make it works salvation. The Bible says that no one is good enough to earn their way to heaven. Salvation is a free gift from God. A gift is something that is given to us, no strings attached. If you have to work for it, then it's not a gift.

Water mean the "water of life" (Jesus). Spirit meaning the Holy Spirit. The term born again means that when we accept Jesus we are reborn because we have knew knowledge (Jesus is Lord.) Then we are to take that knowledge and spread it.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE BAPTIZED TO BE SAVED. BAPTISM IS A SYMBOL. THE PERSON ON THE CROSS NEXT TO JESUS WAS NOT BAPTIZED.

Salvation is through repentance, water baptism in Jesus' Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. This is the fulfillment of John 3:5

Your chum does not get his recommendations from the Bible. there are quite some those that trust they could once "call on the call of the Lord and settle for Him into their existence" they are set for existence. The Bible teaches the different. The Bible says we'd want to be steadfast, unmovable and consistently abounding contained in the word of the Lord. Your chum develop into under no circumstances kept or would not now say those issues. The Bible is authentic and each and every guy a liar that contradicts it. bypass ahead and elements me an x yet it really is what the Bible obviously says. if you're fairly in touch, digital mail me and that i will communicate it with you in accordance to what the Bible says.

Being born of water is not Baptism,it is breaking forth from the womb.(Born into the family of Adam).Asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, and meaning it,the Spirit of God comes into you and seals you for (puts his stamp on you )for good. Now you are born of the Spirit and "Adopted" into the family of God and are a son or daughter.
Now you have been born by water(born) and the Spirit(born again). That's what it means to be a "Born Again " Christian.
Being born again brings your spirit to life. You were Body(physical) and soul (consiousness). Now you are body, soul, and spirit. The human trinity.
By the way it was the river Jordan.

Being born of the water is just getting baptized. Assumedly, if you are saved, you'll choose to be baptized. So I think that's where people decide that being saved is enough to get into Heaven.

Being saved is often referred to as being "reborn" and brought into new life. We are born first in a physical sense and then when we accept Christ we are reborn, washed and cleaned of our sins like when we were babies, in a spiritual sense.

He didn't get a chance to baptize the thief hanging next to him and yet still assured him of a place in paradise. So faith must be enough. Otherwise we would be back to a works based salvation under the law, and that would make his sacrifice pointless now wouldn't it.
