No, you would actually be gaining fat back after crash dieting not muscle. To gain muscle, you need to eat right and exercise.

The only way to really gain your muscle tone back after losing it is to work it. Strength training and the proper diet will help you get that muscle tone back.

When you limit you calorie intake to much your body goes into starvation mode. So it stores fat along with slowing down your metabolism and using your lean muscle mass for energy. So when you gain weight back it all fat! Unless you are exercising and eating properly to lose weight this can be a vicious cycle each time you yoyo diet get loose more muscle and gain more body fat! Great huh.
