Large breasts for no functional purpose are almost unique on humans instead of animals.
The theory I've accepted is this:
Generally, to detect whether a sexual partner is willing/able/ready to mate, the male looks at the buttocks of it's potential mate. Buttocks tend to sexually excite the male of the species when it's ready to mate. Humans are one of the very few bipedal creatures. There are no buttocks to look at, at least not sticking out at you at kinda near eye level. But we still had the "attracted to healthy buttocks" engrained in us. So some people are still ***-men, however, for those of us looking at a girl from the front....breasts evolved to be shaped more like a girl's rear. The shape of breasts is rather similar to that of an ***, after all.
In short, breasts are substitute asses. Large breasts are a virtue because since they're basically useless, much like a large chin on a guy or peacock feathers, having them shows that you have a healthy nutrition and energy to waste on making large breasts, meaning you are a good potential mate since you are successful at finding food and can thus provide for the children and have good genes.
Evolution, ain't it grand?

I guess because they don't have them. I've tried to look at them from a guy's eyes, but I just can't. To me, it's just two lumps of flesh that we shove into a bra every day (well, some of us do). How can we ever figure out why guys are so easily amused? At least, as far as the female anatomy is concerned. I speak only for myself when I say that the male anatomy is really not amusing to me. But I digress...

Boobs are not precisely made up of epidermis.. the outdoors area is epidermis. anyhow. no longer all adult males are "so involved" with them. If people stare, that's often because of the fact there is a few thing to stare at. won't be able to truly blame them. Generalization.

I don't know, I'm an *** man myself. But I'd think it has something to do with the way they complete a woman's figure and set it apart from men's bodies. Not to mention that they're fun to look at and touch.

Hey, that's evolution for ya. Men who like a bit of curvature in all the right places are more likely to reproduce, passing their genes on to the next generation!
Downright romantic, no?

Why do some women find muscles attractive? Why do we like certain eye colors? Why do some guys make our knees turn to jell-o? It just happens. Olfactory Senses. They rock.

well freak its programmed into our genes, back from the old day when we had to make as many babies as possible and keep the species growing. And whats with women, they shure like to stick them out there for all to see. Think of it as art.

It's senses & hormones. We find them fascinating because they are kept hidden. I mean if we didn't show women our six-pack muscles, then they want more right?
