TURKEY DRUMSTICK STEW WITH GREEN PEAS

2 lg. turkey drumsticks (about 2 1/2 lbs.) cut in thirds
Water
1 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
Cooked rice
1 med. onion, stuck with 3 whole cloves
2 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. dried dillweed
1 c. frozen green peas

Place turkey in Dutch oven or kettle with 2 cups water, then salt, bay leaf and onion. Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is very tender and comes off bones easily. Remove turkey from broth. Strain broth and return to Dutch oven. Mix flour and dillweed with small amount cold water until smooth. Stir into broth. Cook and stir until sauce is thickened and smooth. Simmer uncovered while removing skin, bones, and tendons from turkey. Add turkey and peas to sauce. Cover and simmer about 5 minutes or until peas are tender. Serve over hot rice. Makes 4 servings.

if you are using raw turkey it is going to take quite a long time in a toaster oven and it will be very greasy so you may want to wrap it ( or them... can't imagine more than two fitting in a toaster oven ) in some aluminum foil and checking every hour or so to see if you have to drain the excess grease, but if you cook them at 325F I'd say you're looking at at least four hours cooking time
