Theres really no other choice but to take her to the vet, sorry. If it doesn't get treated correctly, it can cause pain and potentially other problems later on. Most vet clinics/shelters have payment plans...
For the time being, just make sure sure has a nice comfy place to lay down, with food and water very near by. Try to keep the place in a small room so she won't try to wonder around on her bad paw, and spend a lot of time with her.

I don't know if Yuna wants your cat dead or what.....milk and aspirin?! Never! And ignoring a possibly fractured paw? Not a good idea, either.

I hate to say it, but you're going to HAVE to take her in for professional medical treatment. Like someone else said, check your local SPCA for help, or see if a vet will accept a payment plan for services. This isn't a rare thing, as most vets understand that not everyone can afford the full bill in an emergency case.

I'm sorry everyone is bashing on you so badly. Sometimes these things happen, and not everyone can afford to take a cat to the vet and pay the full bill every time the unexpected occurs. This doesn't mean you don't love your cat, or that you don't have the money to properly care for her. This is not categorized under "routine" care. Which is why a vet should be more than willing to work out a payment plan with you.

Good luck, I hope everything turns out ok!

Call around and get prices and ask if the vet has payment options. If still not in your price range, contact some no-kill shelters and explain the situation. If unsure where shelters are located in your area, try http://www.petfinder.com/. Search for cats to adopt and see the list of shelters in your area. They may have less expensive options or know of groups that can help. There are a few groups that do what they can to keep animals at their home (usually for older people that have difficulty keeping their pets). If you love your cat (and I suspect you do), you must try to find some way to help her. Ask friends for financial help. You might be surprised to find out you have some really good friends. Have a fund raising party with them. People love a good party.

Ignore people saying you shouldn't have a pet. That's not the issue right now and is of no help.

As for immediate help... if you can get an ice pack on the paw that might help a little until you can get some real help.

Also, sometimes vets will give a little free advice by phone if you ask nice and explain the situation.

Best of luck...

DO NOT GIVE MILK OR ASPRIN.......wrap kitties paw with a cold wet cloth and call a vet and explain what has happened ...they will tell you what it costs for an office call or xrays if needed, it depends if there is a break or it is crushed, sometimes there is nothing to be done if it is not a bad break, we have had this happen and they heal up, just dont let them hurt, your vet can give something for the pain if he thinks it will heal up with time...please keep us posted and let us know if kitty is alright and ignore the ones that tell you not to have an animal, as many people give pets very good homes and cannot afford this high cost of medical expenses, that does not mean your a bad ktity owner, not everone can afford this, they should be glad you have given this animal a loving home, try to keep kitty off of it and keep it wrapped as best as you can with cold wrap check to see if the leg or paw is dangling, as if it is broken she needs to see a vet to evaluate what can be done..... there should be a low cost facility around....good luck

I do hope you can find a vet who will take payments or a humane society who will help. If you have a no-kill shelter they will take her and treat her and you will have to surrender her.

If you have an outdoor cat you simply MUST be prepared for these kinds of medical emergencies. Get a big jar and make it a habit to put change in it frequently. That way you can build up a "cat fund" and at least make a good faith showing of cash to a vet.

Hi Mary,
I am a cat lover through & through. You should look into a SPCA or Humane Society around you. They usually do things like that for a very tiny fee. Most vets will also give you payment options. You want to take her to the vet though darlin'. You don't want her in pain, & the vets can take care of her for you & make her better.
I hope you find a way to fix her paw. Good luck & take care of yourself & your kitty. :)

Money or not you have to have this cat checked out by a vet. The poor thing could have very serious injuries. Ask to work out a payment plan.

take her to the vet or the animal hospital right away...your vet or a shelter....someone will work w/you for installlments..you can't let your cat go on and suffer like this...or borrow the money and pay whomever back w/interest...in installments..take care of the poor thing, animal hospitals are tough when it comes to no money no service..but if u love ur animal you'll do what u have to do..call around in the phone book and try to find the nearest animal hospital that is open 24hours...in the mean time...1/4 tp 1/2 baby aspirin may help a teeny bit pending on the size of the cat....approx 4.6 lbs can handle 1/2 tab of ST Joseph's bayer aspirin once every 8 hours...utilize a cushiony ice pack but without pressing her paw against it because if anything is fractured or broken you'll make it worse...but try to take care of her like you would a child to a certain degree..she'ss obviously in pain...

First of all, if you cant afford the care and emergency unexpected care of a pet, dont get one. Consider taking her to a shelter where they can fix her up, and give her a new home as well. It's very irresponsible to own anything unless you are prepared for the unexpected because as your learning, it does happen.
Call around to shelters and humane society places, they'll be able to help.

I am sorry, I agree with the majority. You should not have a cat in the first place if you cant afford to care for her/him properly. You should go to the ASPCA they will help you. You should also really consider surrendering her to them, before something serious happens and you still cant afford to go to the vet.
