This is where religion usually gets into trouble. While religion can be a very emotional motivator, there are also instances where cold logic can (and should) be used to approach religious queries.

For example, it is a fact that the bible has been translated numerous times and has lost some of its original meaning, as do all books that are translated.

It is also important to note that, unlike many other languages, the gendered noun does not exist in English. There's not even anything similar in our language.

It is also a fact that the bible that is available to us today contains only a select number of gospels that were written at the time. Specific people designed the bible with certain goals in mind, which is not to say that these goals are all negative or all positive.

In the Old Testament, references are made to the dual nature of god. The entity of god is supposed to embody what is considered to be both characteristically feminine, and masculine.

Is god gendered? There is obviously no way to prove this either way, HOWEVER, the argument that god is a man solely based on the fact that he/she is referred to as a "he" or the "father" reeks of ignorance and indicates a lack of forethought.

I clicked on this question for d) to give my opinion on Gods gender and a little bit of b) I can't resist a good show

I don't think God is a male. I've never seen a man create life on his own and I highly doubt it happened on a grander scale than we know. I think that God is both genders (no, not in THAT way sicko!) I think there must be both masculine and feminine qualities for life to come forth.
Then again, I have no freakin clue and I don't think anyone else does either whether they want to admit it or not

Actually, we don't know what gender if any God of the Bible might be. The books of the Bible were written by men during the time when women were suppose to be subservient to men. Men were the only ones that were allowed to teach other men and women were just suppose to make their husbands look good. (Before the Christians choke, Proverbs!!) The Jewish faith that thru women comes lineage and sin and the Christians think they should stay with their husband even if it means they have to die to do it. Religions have nearly all been started by men. Perhaps men think that they need a God and/or that they are so insecure that their God made them (men) in "His" image. Of Course we women just came from a rib while he was sleeping. What a dream!!!

None of the above....well maybe a little of B

Actually, I just wanted to say that G-d is neither male or female. The only reason why He is referred to as a male is so that it is easier to feel closer to Him if we feel that He is like us and has human characteristics. This is why the Christians sought so hard to believe that Jesus is a god. They could not stand the fact that they could not see G-d and wanted to worship physical idols, so they picked a carpentar named Jesus.

I won't stop. I don't agree. I believe God has no sex. It's too bad that our language insists that pronouns be sexual, but for a lack of any other word, I call him "He" or "Him". The male term seems to be generic for humans. I just don't know what other one to use for God.

Ha...ha...ha...

God is Spirit, He is neither male or female but one.

God created Adam. God took a rib (Hebrew for the other side) from Adam and created Eve. (Genesis 1 and 2)

We were created in God's image.

C) God is a term used for male superior beings, and goddess is used for female superior beings. If God were a female we'd call her Goddess. "We believe in one Goddess...". Also in the Bible, God is called our Father, not our Mother. We don't say "Our Mother who art in Heaven...". And if God were a female then she'd be a lesbian, 'cause she made babies with Mary.

The Source of Life is complete. It isn't until the Lifeforce
leaves the Source, that it breaks down into what we understand
as masculine and feminine.

Male or female doesn't make any difference, but if you're living like there is no God, you better hope you are right.

Matthew 23:9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
Why would HE tells us not to call anyone on earth Father if HE wasnt a Father, which is a male.
