Those are so that you can adjust the color and definition settings on your new tv. To peform this important maintenance task, you need to: 1. pull the lever to the right of the screen 2. wad up an ENTIRE roll of aluminum foil (any brand, I always use genuine Reynolds Wrap myself) 3. insert the wad in the "color balance compartment" located immediately behind your screen. 4. Close the door, and press the "AutoCook" (autocook is a technical tv term that refers to aligning the electrons on the phosphor beam) setting for 5 minutes. 5.Use the "Popcorn" and "defrost" settings to add more yellow (popcorn) and blue (defrost) to the simulated demonstration fire that will be on your screen. 6. If the simulated fire extends beyond the edges of your tv screen, feel free to use the toaster to call tech support at 911. Good luck

Sweet!! you bought one of those fancy new tv's. If you hit the popcorn button then popcorn will start popping on the apricot tree. If it is winter you will need to hit defrost first to thaw out the tree temporarilly so that the popcorn can pop on it.

If you mean Microwave, popcorn means when you put microwaveable popcorn in the microwave close the door and push that button. Defrost is for defrosting food without cooking it.

they had two extra spaces after they designed it and had to put something in there, so after careful consideration and a company wide survey, a committee was formed, from that sprung a sub-committee, and after approximately 13 months of meetings, where, by the way, the usual agenda was setting the time and place of the next meeting, they finally asked the mail room clerk what he thought, and he said the magic words, " i like to defrost my popcorn because i keep it in the freezer..a collective light shone bright and the sub-committee and the committee took this breakthrough and brilliant idea directly to the CEO, who by the way had just received news of another 20 million dollar cost of living increase, and after all was said and done, he waved his magnificently diamond festtooned wand and "popcorn" and "defrost' were put on the control panel, the CEO of course took all of the credit for this brilliant strategy, and was awarded a 50 million dollar bonus, and another Hummer to add to his collection...LMAO

They save you time. You no longer have to get up and go to the kitchen to prepare your TV snacks. This is one of those new HD-TV's you've been hearing so much about. "HD" stands for "heats and defrosts."
