My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

you need to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer 5x per week will probably at best burn 1000 calories (depending on your intensity level). So really if you don't change your diet at all you would only lose 1-2 pounds a month in all likelihood.

honestly... the elliptical sucks... its like FAKE RUNNING. wut u need to do is RUN on the TREADMILL. that really gets u sweating/burning off them calories which helps u to lose weight. i dont know how ur diet is currently but try to eat more healthier too MORE GREENS AND FRUITS!!!
oh yeah... but if u REALLY wanna get hardcore with the SWEATING AND WEIGHTLOSS... u can use this method i learned in WRESTLING that i still do today. whenever i run on the treadmilll i wear: basketball shorts, sweatpants, t-shirt, hoodie-pullover and a tracksuit over all that stuff. everytime i wear this to the gym it looks like im snowboarding and u look all bulky but let me tell u this... try running a few miles like this and u will be SOAKED and SWEATING. but be careful... even if u dont feel thirsty u need to keep DRINKIN WATER and keep your body hydrated to prevent DEHYDRATION. i do it all the time.

good luck and stay healthy.

You should seriously try a cycling class................you burn so many calories in just one hour. Exercising in a class helps to keep you pumped up and the hour goes by really fast. I think you'll enjoy it and you will see a difference really soon..........that's how I lost weight, but more importantly inches.
