Are there any benefits to your hair or scalp if you shave your head?

Shaving your head will not make your hair grow faster. You get less buildup of dead skin etc if there is no hair to trap it, but you don't have any hair to wick sweat away from your scalp and you have to mop it up all the time.

If you wear a real tight headband, you can make your scalp resemble the surface of Mars.

You might look cooler as opposed to just balding.
