for some girl yes, (sad but true) but this girl might not be like that it might really make her day for you to ask her to homecoming and have a gift for her to that really nice

I don't see it as a problem to do something special every once in a while. It is a special occasion. You could give her something simple that means something to both of you. Give her something that will remind her of something you both did together. You could give her a card to ask her to homecoming.

I never expect gifts. Gifts come from the heart and mean something. You don't have to buy her a car or anything big like that. I think it is nice that a guy will get something small to let her know you care. I would even love a dandelion every once in a while.

Enjoy the homecoming. Since she is your girlfriend, she will probably be going with you even if you didn't get her a gift.

Maybe ones a month is OK. Getting gifts always make people happy but to much is not necessary and can make you look as a sick person. Or what happened if you give less gifts or you forgot - is no schedule for unnecessary gifts.

Well, it depends on the girl. Some girls are just too spoiled.

I wouldn't give her a gift to ask her to homecoming. Save gifts for special days like, birthdays, valentine's day, or something like that.

You can give her a gift if you want, but if you don't then fine. But giving a gift for homecoming is corny - no offense - just ask her straight up to her face. and sense it is your gf she possible already knows who she gonna take - you! maybe ! -

I think your mom is wrong, and a gift is from the heart, girls don't expect gifts all the time, but do appreciate the gesture from time to time.

Wow! Your mom is something else!! (hee hee!) It sounds like a really sweet gesture to offer your girlfriend a small gift in exchange for her acceptance to attend homecoming with you!

Its not a matter of custom or necessity. If you want to see her happy and you think a gift will do that, then buy her a gift. If you don't think a gift will make her happy do something else. If you don't want to see her happy she shouldn't be your girlfriend.

I think she will expect it, but try picking something small and inexpensive. Something that has romantic meaning rather than being showy with any amount of money, then she will expect romance rather than the next big gift.
