To EMULSIFY fats you'll need lecithin. That can be found in most grains and soy products or bought in softgel form.Fat is not really digested but emulsified to make it more soluble.Fruits that contain large doses of proteolytic enzymes are pineapple, papaya, and kiwi(they also make great meat tenderizers if you put them on the meat a few hours before cooking. The greatest risk in using OTC enzyme supplements is GERD and upset stomach or heartburn. If you don't have any ulcers and are not prone to heartburn then using these enzymes in recommended doses after meals may help you digest your meals.Proteins are digested(peptide bonds broken)by acids and carbohydrates by bases

Enzymes are catalysts that synthesize and break down substances in our bodies. Lipase is the name of a fat splitting enzyme that under the proper conditions breaks down triglycerides (fat) into it's component fatty acids and glycerol which are then absorbed in the small intestine. There are hundreds of enzymes involved with various processes throughout the body. Normally, one doesn't need to take supplements to aid enzymes. Not only does the enzyme need to be in the proper place, it may also need co-factors in order to work properly.
