The center rear is the safest place to put a car seat. This gives a buffer zone from impact in each direction, and significantly decreases the chance of fatal injury in a crash. I am sure you know this, but just in case, any seat with an airbag should not be considered, even if there is a switch to turn it off. They have found that these can malfunction in a crash and still allow the airbag to inflate.

The middle of the back seat is considered the most safe because there is always a chance of side impact if the child sits on the left/right. If you have concerns take the car with the seat to a local police station they are required to show you and check to make sure the seat is in properly if you ask. Good Luck!

In the back seat in the middle. If the middle is not available the the back passenger side.
Most new cars have the latch system installed and all carseats are made with the latch system now.
If you are a first time parent I recomend you visit your local police or fire department and ask to have a carseat inspection done. They will guide you through the proper procedure of placing the seat in and making sure its done right.

The backseat. As far as where in the back usually the middle. See where the seat sits the best and make sure to read the directions that came with your car seat. They usually offer some really good tips about reclining and all of that. If you havent had your baby yet before you leave the hospital someone there will beable to help you out ask questions lots of them I sure did. You can also call your local fire or police department they will be glad to help you with any questions and will make sure it is installed correctly.

It depends on your car. The middle is the safest unless the carseat doesnt sit correctly in the middle (mine does not) then either side is ok.

I dont know if right or left matters but, it is definately the back seat. You also need to have a seatbelt with the shoulder belt and the lap belt.
