Some verses from the Gospels state that Jesus would return before the death of those to whom he was talking. Both Matthew and Luke include the statement from Jesus, "This generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place" (Matthew 24:34, Luke 21:32)

hey sunday school teacher
cite something to contradict
and you magpie - according to the Gospel accounts, Jesus rose from the dead about a day and a half later, not three days. Check out Jesus's own references to Jonah.

You need to read the entire passage, not just one sentence. If you read the whole thing, you'll see its not the generation of the people he was talking to, but the generation of Israel again becoming a nation. That happened in 1948, and a biblical generation is 70 years, which gives us until 2018 for the tribulation to begin.

"This generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place"
Take it in context.
Jesus was telling the people about some of the signs that would show His return was near ... and He said that the generation who saw THOSE signs "will not pass away until all thee things have taken place".
NOT the people to whom He was telling these signs; rather, the people who will see those signs.
A false prophet? He was raised the third day from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the place of honour, from which He shall come again, to judge the living and the dead. That doesn't sound much like a "false prophet"!!!

Are you a Christian, because if you are you should know, 3 days after Jesus was crucified he arose from the dead. This is celebrated at Easter, the holiest of Christian holidays. Christmas has a lot of glitz and Santa Claus but Easter is the real Christian holiday. If Jesus said this generation will not pass away until these things have taken place, I believe three days is less than a generation

Unfulfilled is the answer I've been given. God sent Jesus as the long-awaited messiah who would bring peace on earth, but somehow or another God changed His mind and decided Jesus must be sacrificed and suffer an excruciating death on the cross in order to atone for Christians' sins. He'll return after a millennium or three to get even with all those evil Jews and will condemn them to hell's fire for eternity.
This is the kind and loving Christian God as opposed to the Jewish God of vengeance who has a place for all the righteous of the nations in the world to come!

Forgive him Father, for he knows not what he speaks. My friend, I would suggest you increase your study to put that question in context. I used to be one of the scoffers who tried to debunk the Bible, pick it apart, find indiscrepancies in the text. Do you want to know what happened? I found the Truth, I challenge you to find it as well. Oh, and by the way, don't talk smack about my Savior, I might just pray for you, and there's nothing you can do to stop me! Take care, hope JESUS HIMSELF answers you! :)

Of course not!....go get "spiritually educated" and stop talking foolish!....you need to spiritually understand what the scriptures mean!...(John 3:3).....if you really want to learn about Jesus, seek a Pastor/Minister to help teach you the things of GOD!...after all, that's why GOD Anointed, & Appointed them into His Ministry! (Eph. 4:11-15)
