What is the medication you are talking about. If it is a narcotic there is the concern of diversion and physical dependency developing. I need more info if I am to help you. Generally speaking being honest with your physician/pharmacist and other health professional is always a good policy.
I am a pharmacist if you need to get in touch: pyramider2001@yahoo.ca

The reason for them thinking you are addicted is you are out of it before the next refill. Maybe your body is immuned to that medication now! It might be your body is immuned to just the strength. Ask your Doctor if that could be the problem. You might need to take a different pain reliever for awhile and see if it works. If the new medication does work take it. I assure you if your body got immuned to the other medication or strength then your body will do the same with the new one. This will tell you and your Doctor if you were actually addicted or you just needed the miligrams to be stronger.
