"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly"
- Buddha -

Buddhists believe in living in the moment, we have no sin concept, but we know that to hurt another being would adversely effect our ability to end our desire and thus our sufferings. We try not to do anything bad until we reach Nirvana and become incapable of doing anything bad because our desire is ended, including our desire to do evil. We believe in taking responsibility for our actions because when we do something rual or bad it sets us back in our quest for enightenment:

"By oneself is evil done; by oneself is one defiled. By oneself is evil left undone; by oneself is one made pure. Purity and impurity depended on oneself; no one can purify another"
- Buddha -

Can you achieve any forgiveness from God?It's great. In Islam, the person who says THERE IS NO GOD EXCEPT ALLAH AND THE HOLY PROPHET MOHAMMED (Peace Be Upon Him) IS THE MESSANGER OF ALLAH, as soon as he or she have to pray five time daily, he or she have to pay to poor family or person who are muslim(s)(if he or she as rich as to pay) 2.5% of earning (annual),fasting one month per year at the time of fasting month and have to go Mecca to perform Haj.Within these five major tasks there is no tolerance for a muslim,if he or she left to do one of these he or she must fill it as soon as possible. Before he or she died without doing such a thing Allah will forgive or not as Allan wish.

The person(muslim) who took any advantage from anybody without the permission of he or she(muslim or non muslim),he or she have to apologise untill this person say it's ok.Before he or she died without doing any apologise to this person, Allah will never forgive him or her untill the day of judgement. At that day he or she have to pay whatever he did.But that day there is no money or property, only he or she already sent to Allah before he or she left this world(i mean whatever he or she did good things).

These are some samples,if you want to know more in details you can contact my e-mail. May Allah give you the right path.

O my mind, God is always with you; He is your Lord and Master. Tell me, where could you run to get away from the Lord?

The True Lord God Himself grants forgiveness; we are emancipated only when the Lord Himself emancipates us. ||1||

O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har - chant it in your mind.

Quickly now, run to the Sanctuary of the True Guru, O my mind; following the Guru, the True Guru, you shall be saved. ||1||Pause||

O my mind, serve God, the Giver of all peace; serving Him, you shall come to dwell in your own home deep within.

As Gurmukh, go and enter your own home; anoint yourself with the sandalwood oil of the Lord's Praises. ||2||

O my mind, the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har, Har, are exalted and sublime. Earn the profit of the Lord's Name, and let your mind be happy.

If the Lord, Har, Har, in His Mercy, bestows it, then we partake of the ambrosial essence of the Lord's Name. ||3||

O my mind, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and attached to duality, those faithless cynics are strangled by the Messenger of Death.

Such faithless cynics, who have forgotten the Naam, are thieves. O my mind, do not even go near them. ||4||

O my mind, serve the Unknowable and Immaculate Lord, serving Him, your account will be cleared.

The Lord God has made servant Nanak perfect; he is not diminished by even the tiniest particle. ||5||5||19||57||

-Guru Granth Page-170

In short, serve the lord by following the teachings of the Guru Granth and you shall receive salvation and will be free of life of duality.

As a Christian, one obtains forgiveness from Jesus. There is no other way.

wrong, as a christian you BELEIVE that youll obtain faith if you continue on your present course. you BELEIVE youre moving towards salvation. the same applies to any other person in any other religion, they beleivethat their mythological path is correct. the reality of the matter is that no religion is correct.

other faiths obtain their forgiveness through whatever ways they do.

i forgive myself .. i work towards not making the same mistake twice .. infact i dont see them as mistakes but as lessons
i feel as long as you learn from anything you have done ... then it is not wrong
life is for learning .. dont carry guilt around if you have learned from the past
