There are a lot of people that accuse christians of being hypocrites on the issue of capital punishment. Because Jesus died tragically from capital punishment they ask how can christians tolerate the repetition of such cruelty and support capital punishment?

Well the answer is actually clear.

God approves of capital punishment so greatly that he decided to have his own son executed in this way. If God had not been in favour of the crucifiction, He could have stopped proceedings right away.

Thus Jesus was an enduring example to us of Gods desire that criminals should be executed for crimes by way of being nailed to a cross.

If this is the case, shouldnt christians ask our law makers for law reform so that all criminals on death row are killed as Jesus was, by crucification?

I can't speak for God. I believe that He was greatly saddened at the death of His Son as He gave Abraham an example of how it feels by asking him to sacrifice his son. If you recall, the sacrifice was stopped after the message was understood. If it was not necessary for Christ to die on the cross, he would have stopped that too.

Romans 13:2
So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow.

That's what God has to say about it...
