NO!!! It is not that easy!!! You need to see a vet and see if they can stear you in the right direction!!!!! It can be a food allergy, or anything else in the environment!!!! What if the dog is allergic to nettles????

SEE A VET !!!!!!

I have been thinking the same thing.

I was told that if you have a bite or have itchy skin you rub Bracken fern on to the area.

There are alot of herbs that are great for itching skin. I made a spray with COMFREY, SOAP-WART,ALOE VERA and ROSEMARY for my horses. NEEM OIL in their normal shampoo is supposed to stop this problem as well.

I have been trying to find out if the same could be used on Dogs, cats and horses. I really believe that most of the old time bush remedies are far better than today's synthetic sprays and lotions.

thanks for your Question you have motivated me again!

If the dog always scratches - could be a number of things. First! Check his food! See if one of the ingredients is corn! There are a lot of dogs allergies to corn and drives them crazy scratching.
Could also be fleas! OR dry skin! (add avocado to his food). If that doesn't help, take him to the vet. He could get really infected from scratching.

Best thing we used was tea Tree oil. Our little dog was allergic to the darn fleas. Odd enough. Anyhow, the tea tree poil worked best. I'd advise to put abut half a teaspoon into your dogs shampoo. if you have a larger dog, a full table spoon might be better advised.

Someone recommended using green tea on my cocker spaniel. Don't know if it is helping, but I have been putting it on her back for few days. She has terrible skin but a nice coat. I am afraid to say, but she seems a little better.
