"If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects. Not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi. If you wish to be a complete and wise leader, you must embrace a larger view of the Force... even the nature of the Dark Side. You must break through the fog of lies the Jedi have created around you. Let me help you to know the subtleties of the Force.

George Lucas invented the Jedi order for his "Star Wars" series of movies. He based Jedi philosophy on a combination of Buddhist philosophy (all spirits are an expression of the one spiritual force, Brahman) and Samurai disciplines.

He was trying to make a morality play, when such things were not very popular. Setting the battle of good vs. evil in a futuristic space setting, with a generic spirituality, made the story more interesting. I think the whole thing grew waaaaaay beyond Lucas' expectations!

The entire 6-movie series is actually the elongated story of the rise, fall, and redemption of 1 character: Anakin Skywalker.

Lock yourself in a room with only a TV and a DVD player, all six Star Wars movies and a lot of acid, heroin or pcp.

Start taking the drugs and watching the movies...soon you WILL BE Yoda!!!!
