I like a light protein snack about 45 mins before working out. LIGHT.. do not load yourself down. I go for skim milk after the work out. That rehydrates and gives you some nourishment. After the workout, when you feel comfortable eating, eat.

well it's never a good idea to eat right before you exercise, as many a person has found out the tough way, especially if you are doing high impact exercise or lifting weights. You'll end up puking or feeling like you really need to.

as for the best time to eat post-exercise, i've heard that an hour or so after exercising is the most appropriate time if you are trying to lose weight, as your metabolism is at its maximum at this time.

I think it might actually depend on what type of exercise you are doing. If you are doing cardio to lose weight then you should wait until afterwards to eat- and I wouldn't wait any more than an hour. Probably 20-30 minutes after.

If you are going to be doing an intense weight-lifting workout you may want to eat a light, healthy protein and/or carb snack to give your body the fuel it needs.

I usually eat a banana or one slice of toast with some peanut butter about an hour before I work out...and not less in time. I find it too hard to work out on an empty stomach, but I also find that my stomach doesn't agree with eating a half hour or less before I work out.
I will have a piece of fruit or a protein bar after working out..depending on how I feel...but I never eat any big meals after working out though...it makes me feel icky.

What I usually do, and this is what I've heard and what works for me, is that I eat after I work out and I wait an hour after I work out before I eat. This way, it maximizes fat burning and you get a heartier workout first thiing in the morning in a fasted state.

After you work out. But make sure and drink water before and during exercise!

Neither. It's not good to eat right before or right after. I would say its best to eat about an hour before you workout so you can get rid of some of the fat from that meal. But definitely not right before.

eat before. wait 30 minutes, then workout. If you dont have any food in you, you cant work out at ur peak, cause ur body wont have anything use for energy. But watch what u eat to
