I have always went to an Army dentist so this is really only a matter of opinion:

I got my wisdom teeth pulled while I was in Iraq. It was about a week before I got normal. For that week I could not smoke (this causes a dry socket, and trust me, you don't want that). I did eat pretty much whatever I wanted, I just tended to chew with my frontal teeth.

If you DO have to smoke, try to keep the sockets covered really really well. You would hate to see them get infected.

Jello, ice cream, soup, mash potatos. No soda's or alcoholic drinks this will dissolve the blood clot. You should quite smoking but at least 48-72 hours on the smoking this will give u a dry socket-You may feel good for about three days after the extractions but all of a sudden IT HURTS BAD!!!!! YOU HAVE A DRY SOCKET. Call the Dr. that did the extraction and he can pack some stuff in the areas and it feels better with in 10 min. Do not drink through a straw the sucking action will pull the clot out as well.

I waited almost two weeks before I smoked. I know that sounds really hard, but when you inhale, you are sucking in and that pulls on the stitches and the wound and you can end up causing dry sockets - which I thankfully didn't have, but I have heard are incredibly painful to the point of being more painful than actually having the teeth yanked. You should also avoid using straws for the same reason.

I ate the standard soft foods, like mashed potatoes, jello and pudding, and I also made sure I had a lot of carnation instant breakfast - it fills you up really well.

I ate anything soft. French fries, mashed potatoes, soup, you really don't have to hard of a time eating other than some jaw soreness from having your mouth opened so big.
The smoking will cause something called 'dry socket' it's where the gums dry out in the holes & cause bone to be exposed. I would say 7-14 days. Depending upon how quickly you heal. My husbands uncle smoked at about 12 days & by day 15 or so, he started having the dry socket problems. Also, don't use a straw to drink from either cuz that will also cause it.

mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, soups, are good a couple days after, but i'd eat cold stuff like ice cream and milkshakes right after (the cold helps control bleeding). Not sure on the smoking, better to not smoke ever...but I know how that goes. :)

food is for any thing that is soft puddings mash potatoes & gravy soups etc.. as far as smoking yhou should give up the habit but if you are one that can;t break bad habits than your provider will tell you not to suck on any thing for about 2 weeks that goes for smoking and straws.

liquids like water and tea later that day. mash potatoes or something soft the next day. Don't rush, or you could pull the stitches and delay healing. Smoking? Great time to buy "the patch."

Have foods like broth (no noodles).
yogurt
custard
scrambled eggs (sorry no toast)
Milk shakes
Carnation instant Breakfast (good meal replacement)
I would not smoke until after the stiches are removed and the wounds are healed

Ask the dentist and quite smoking now. It's a very unhealthy habit that can lead to numerous serious health problems.
