and to stop illegal immigration,

A serious commitment to border security
would require fencing off
the entire southern border—
all 1,891 miles of it.
(For comparison,
we have 40,000 miles of Interstate highways.)

At $1.7 million per mile
(the cost of the first 10 mile stretch
in San Diego),
the entire U.S.-Mexican border
(all 1,891 miles of it)
could be sealed off for $3.3 billion dollars.

Iraq spending equivalent: 13.8 days.

Cost/benefit analysis, anyone?

How many tens of thousands of miles of highways were built, how many telegraph poles, how many miles of rail track, power lines, telephone wires, airports were built to make the country what it is today? 2,000 miles of invasion-resistant fencing is easy money...

Soooooo

Do we go to something like Lou Dobbs.com?

Because I think the entire border should be SECURED, including lots of fencing, but not FULLY fenced However, I won't quibble with the word. I know how they would take a 'no.'

Thanks for the link. 89% for fencing when I took it.

Just voted yes....which brings the total 4,342 for yes
and 523 for no.
And definitely the whole border should be fenced, electrified, technology utilized. It is possible, no one can tell me that it's not !!
