Dropping out means that you quit school. Being dropped means your school dropped you for not attending. In most states, it is legal for a school to drop you, or suspend you for not attending over the age of 16. However, each state adopts its own laws on this. As I said in one of your other questions, for what reason do you have for wanting to quit? Please don't.

Either way, you will be considered a high-school drop out. As to if it is illegal, assuming there was a sufficient reason to expell you from school, no it is not illegal. Three are many other schools that are specifically set for taking care of troubled teens.

Before start thinking if it is illegal to drop you, thus trying to find a place to put the blame on for the result of your actions, you should think about what got you into the trouble in the first place.

If you still think they are not justified in their decision to expell you, then you should follow the process for appeal.

Dropping out of school is your decision
Being dropped from school is the school's decision
Whether it is illegal or not depends on where you live.

public schools can expell you for bad behavior especially if it concerns the safety of other students. If you need to finish H.S. youll have to goto a diff school and behave this time, if you dont youll grow up with no education a burdon of society and eventually piss me off cause my taxes will go up to help support you. Youll feel horrible about yourself and eventually either get a GED goto college and become someone or you'll get married to someone who'll put up with your
17 yrs old you should know this crap already
