Yes, but it's not the color that really matters. What matters is whether or not the color is complementary to your skin tone. African Americans come in all shades, but the undertone (yellow, red, orange, olive, etc.) of the skin is what you have to think about. Seek the professional help of a hair stylist who will be honest with you...not just someone who will tell you it looks good because they think that's what you want to hear.

Red /Burgandy hair is NOT a good color for anyone..it looks unnatural , hair is not burgandy.

I love the Burgundy hair color in the darker hair. That's just my opinion though. I think it makes the hair look nice.

Depends what your colours are, personally it doesn't work for me. You may want to investigate a golden bronze instead.
