Heres my thing, Im A 16 year old JR in high school, my girl friend is a year younger then me, and attends the same high school. The only problem is that she lives in another city, 7 miles away. Now she doesnt want to go to that school (I dont think anyone wants her to, including me) and being seven miles out of town, no bus from our school goes that far, so she cannot ride the bus, nor can she drive. She wants to walk, but being 7 miles, and the fact that our area has alota sex afenders, I do not feel safe leting her walk, and allways drag her to my house and get her a ride with my parents (In Dec. I get my car so I can drive her). Most of my friends agree that I should not let her walk home, but she just says that Im too protective, and that nothing will happen. How do I convince her?

Thanks for all your help, and Im hoping that by showing her this, that Im not being over protectful, just being reasonable... and No, I will not break her legs, I think that would take this in the complete other direction, and she would probly break up with me... not very smart..

allot of girls like to feel independent and act tougher than they are i don't like when my wife walks anywhere there are allot of sickos out there. don't make it a big deal that you don't want her walking home alone just tell her you want to spend more time with her and hang out then your parents can drive her home later

Some states will grant a "school permit" to students 14 or 15 years old if they live far from school and the bus doesn't come to their home. You might tell her to check into that.

You're a good boyfriend for your concern.

Kudos to you for being a real man. And you should explain to her that you'r not being over protective but you just love her and are worried because you cant risk losing her. This should cut it. If not then maybe you should give a lil hint to her parents *if there's real danger*. Good Luck!

Sounds like the only real way is to to tell her exactly why you want her to be driven. When you get your car, then tell her that you will drive her. If she dosen't see the point, I'm afraid your SOL my friend.
