If Christians are so against abortion, then why won't they approve of homosexual couples adopting children? Every state is filled with children who want and need loving homes. Why then do bigots who scream abortion is wrong, also won't let these unfortunate children have loving homes by homosexuals? It doesn't make sense.

Not ALL Christians believe that abortion is wrong and not all christians believe that homosexuals should not adopt children. I am a very devout christian. I attend church twice a week, study the Bible with people, read, and pray. I dated my husband for three years and didnt even french kiss him until the day we got married because we were trying to live out our christianity and have a pure relationship. I am NOT one of those people who just calls themself a christian. I genuinely try to live like Jesus, even though I fall short. That being said, I think it's great for homosexuals to adopt children - there are so many orphans and children in the foster care system in HORRIBLE situations. Any good people who are willing to take them in, love them, and be good parents should be able to do so! A loving gay parent is WAY better than no parent or an abusive parent! Besides, psychological research shows that children of gay parents are no more likely to have emotional difficulties or become gay themselves than children of straight parents (I had to learn this in my doctoral program). Also, I don't believe all abortions are wrong! I dont agree with abortion as a form of birth control, however, I believe it is absolutely fine if it endangers the health of the mother (physically or psychologically), like if a mother has cancer and would have to delay chemo or abort, or if a young girl is raped and conceives. I also think abortion is not only wrong, but the RIGHT decision when there is something severely wrong with the fetus, such that there would be no chance of the baby having any quality of life if it were brought into the world. Just like it offends you that some christians believe that all gay people are bad people, it hurts my heart when people believe that all christians are bad or hateful or narrowminded or bigoted.

having both a male and female viewpoint is helpful in raising a child

having both a male and female adult in the home has advantages in terms of allowing a child a close view of each gender in prepareing for life in the world

circumstances do not always allow this... and children can grow up with one parent finding other role models, hopefully good ones

but in the end... I would want to make sure a boys masculinity was not belittled for example... I know there are many sincere people very concerned about childrens welfare and may in fact be gay and it is not a simple question

since I do think it is against God's design for the family, I will lean in one direction

Because like I have said they forget where they came from to get to the path they are on. Of course why shouldn't Hemosexual and anyone else who is willing to take chiildren out of the system and give them loving homes. It doesn't mean because you are gay you don't know how to bring a child or children up in a loving and nurturing home. Thats what they should be concerned about. Half of these children are abused after they are adopted by Hetorsexual families. Does it make it right?

Stupidity mostly. For some reason they love to cast homosexuals as sinners. Even their own bible says ALL are sinners. The parents of these unwanted kids were probably also sinners, that's why the kids are up for adoption in the first place.

What's with the ASSumption that all straights are so free from sin? Or all christians for that matter?

If you ever find a christian that adheres to all the proscriptions in Leviticus, I'd like to see the person. Haven't found one yet.

Christians themselves don't seek perfection. They just like to demand it of others.

Because Christians view homosexuality as a sin.

It's not the adoption that is the issue, it's the fact that the 'parents' are homosexual.

I believe that there are many homosexual couples out there who would be wonderful parents, but I have to admit that I do not think that they should be able to adopt. I'm of the old-fashioned view that a child should have a mother and a father - not two fathers or two mothers.

I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but it is my view.

Homosexuals should be able to adobt children because these children need good homes. People who happens to be gay are good people and they could probably raise a child up better then a regular home.

Romans 7:18-25
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

The same reason we wouldn't support bringing them up in a brothel, why would anyone want to place kids in any imoral setting?

This is a great thinking question. They are cast aways, so who cares who their parents are? If they love them, let them adopt. Striahgt couples ain't always so loving. If they ain't gonna beat 'em or rape 'em, do it.

Christians are FOR life. Good life. So if the kids can get a good life, it should be okay. 'Sides, Christians fight for the wrong things sometimes (tho abortion IS wrong)

i agree with you. you cannot raise a child to be gay or straight. it is the way they are born. sexual orientation does NOT take away from a person's ability to be a good parent. why deny perfectly good would-be parents to kids who need a good home? its stupid.
