You know the thing I always find interesting? "Hearing voices" is actually classified as a legitimate mental illness... but only when it's not the voice of "God". If you hear someone else in your head, you're insane... if you hear God's voice, you're enlightened, or blessed, or something. It's a crazy, crazy world we live in.

God answers prayers. Jesus promised that if we opened the door to Him He would come in & chat with us.
Jesus is God. He is also the way to the Father God. Where Father God will chat with us.
God is powerful in feelings, but when we are in the Spirit, praying in Spirit & Truth (pleasing to God), we can hear God with spiritual ears. God answers prayer. We can get assurance in our spirit.
What is so special, is when I ask God to do a miracle & even years later He shows me when & how it was done (through others). I call those answers to prayer, even though it originally was just confirmed in my spirit.

It's both, depending on who you are-- how spiritually aware you are.
For some ppl, it's a little thought in your mind that's not overwhelming, but it guides you to do this.. Sometimes it's a series of thoughts that leads you to conclusions (ie. the effect of your action). Sometimes God speaks to us through dreams, where we see our state of mind, or answers to dilemmas clearly. Sometimes God out and out speaks to us with a voice in our heads. Sometimes God speaks to us through other ppl.
It all depends on where we are mentally, how God will talk to us.

He talks to people. Look at Moses, Jesus, Paul, and a host of others. You just have to be close to His heart, read the Bible, and look for him to talk to you. Do YOU believe he talks to people? If you do, start looking for that still, small voice. I believe He talks to people, and that he talks to me. Just start listening for it. It might be a whisper or a shout in your soul, but I htink you'll know it when you hear it.

I believe he does, although I don't think he comes down on clouds and the earth shakes, I believe he can talk to you through dreams, with a angel, or give you signs as well, just pray to him and you will see
