No, you do not have to use worms when fishing with lures...... the whole idea of a lure is fool a predatory fish into thinking the lure is a sick or injured fish = easy meal.

However, lures..... particularly spinners can sometimes be enhanced by replacing the treble hook with a slightly larger single hook, and baited with a worm.

No but they make some lures that you should add a worm to.

You don't have to. Sometimes trying different stuff and methods work.

When I first arrive at the water, I ask the people that are with me to each use a different kind of lure with different colors. We stick to the lures or colors that give the best result.

So my answer would be to try everything.

worm and a jig maybe good, worm and a rappala no good. It depends what you fishing for.
