Do what you want. Dress the way you like and just get out and do more. The more open and the more you get out the more you will get over this. Just have to get over the first big step. Then it's all down hill.

Hey, my sister! I'm terribly shy. There are things I want to do, though, so I decided not to let it stop me. Here's the thing -- try to remember that other people are just as worried about how they appear to others as you are. You don't have to become something you aren't, just try to make sure other people feel comfortable, out of compassion.
Everyone wants to feel interesting, so ask a question, then listen to the answer. The more you concentrate on making other people feel comfortable, the better you'll feel. You don't have to remake yourself into The Life of the Party - the world is always short on really good, interested listeners.
As for the confidence, I'm learning that lesson myself. One thought I've found helpful comes, believe it or not, from the musical "Oklahoma!" Wise old Aunt Eller says, "I don't say I'm no better than anybody else, but I'll be danged if I ain't just as good!"
Unless you're a serial killer or some such, you are as good as most of the people walking the Earth, and better than some. Remind yourself of everything you have going for you, everything you've done well, every person you ever helped, and then remind yourself that you're a good person, entitled to look the world in the eye.
Smile, and a lot of the world will enjoy looking you in the eye. Good luck!

It depends on how old you are? If anything it goes with the confidence you have in yourself. Of Age if your young you might grow into it. I used to be shy but now Im fine.

You should wake up every morning and Look in the mirror and Say I am a confident beautiful woman.
Do it for 30 days and watch the improvment in your confidence.
I did the same thing for football in College and My game play improved and my demeanor improved. You just have to beleive in yourself.

build your confidence by offering to have sex with men. You will find that an amazing number will accept, and it will be a big boost to your confidence.
