My school is on block scheduling (1 1/2 hours class time each)and here's my schedule:
1st semester:
Latin II, Advanced European History, Trigonometry, Advance Literature
2nd semester:
Advanced Latin, Advance European History (year long course, obviously), Advanced Environmental Science and then I get off at 1:30 to take classes at the local college.
Then I have to take all those AP tests which are $80 each, and there are so many things to pay for this year and we have no money! Then, I also work around 30 hours a week and get up at 5:00 a.m. 7 days a week. I know people have it tougher than me and I'm just complaining but I'm very stressed! Words of comfort needed and appreciated, lol.

I can tell you, as i see others have done, that others (including myself) have it BAD too, if not worse. But that doesnt mean anything. You know that you are not the only one with such issues, you stated that yourself already. You are only as strong as you think you are and only as strong as those challenges that you overcome. I commend you for going as far as you have gone so far. Yes, your courses are very hard, but that just shows that you have determination and the ability. They will help you get in to a great college and get a great scholarship. So too the job. In fact, you wil probably qualify for a load of financial aid and grants due to your personal story based on need-based aid. Dont worry, if you beleive in G-D then: If G-D brought you to it, he'll bring you through it. I dont know if you would be interested or if you would have time for it but i reently was researching how 10 minutes a day of meditation can have countless positive affects. Good Luck and know that we are all rooting for you.

You're correct. The system today stinks and is more like a prison system for the most part. It's largely a waste of time, and you're going to have to teach yourself most of the stuff that's worthwhile, anyway.
Just bear with it, that's about all you can do. And try to be one of the young people who becomes an actual success at something. The teachers and those in the system won't be too happy, a lot of them.

Well you definately have a busy schedule, but just think how far ahead you'll be in college, plus with working you can add that to your resume. If you keep it up you can go to any college you want and have any job you want. It will all pay off big time in the end.

No one said growing up was gonna be easy. Wait until after high school, when you're getting up at 4 am to get to work on time because it takes 45 mins to get there and you still have to get the kids up and off to day care/school. Then you bust your *** all day long, only to come home to immediately start dinner and entertaining the kids. All the while, your mortgage payment of $2,000 is due next week and you just had to take your dog to the vet, which ended up costing so much money and you wonder how you're going to pay that mortgage on time. Nevermind the fact that all your friends are going out on their boats and trips to Vegas while you're at home wondering where it all went wrong.

Dang - I get exhausted just reading your schedule! At least it sounds like you will be well-prepared academically for college. And if you play up your gruesome schedule (both school and work) on college applications, maybe some places will be so impressed that they will reward you with a scholarship!?!
Hang in there! You're mighty impressive!

Your life sounds really intense. Do you have time for fun? This is good preparation for the college years. I hate the block classes. It is insanity! Hang in there and don't lose yourself in this tornado you have to survive.

well you seem like a real smart girl! first of all, good for you on you signing up for all those ap courses!! they stand out real well when you have them nicely written on your highscool records, perfect thing to present on your college applications.
i graduated long time ago...good old class of 2000 :) but i recall all those stressful moments. i began taking ap classes my junior year and they killed me!! there was so much work to do and i suffered a lot! im not kidding, it was one of my most stressful years in hs. however on my senior year where i took even more ap classes, i was less stressed since i was prepared to get it all in. in fact now that im in college, i notice that i dont freak out on all the work i have to do, because i know how to handle it. it would work teh same way to you. (the advantage of studying hard in hs).
i dont recall in what semesters they were, but i recall i had to choose either, ap art history or ap us history. i chose the us history and believe it or not but i really enjoyed that class. all my friends said the ap art history was 10x more difficult, but again it all depends on the teacher and how they teach.
i took also ap american literature. i hated that class!! only because of the dam teacher, she didnt recognize my abilities and paid all the attention to the nerds of the class. maybe it was just cause i was hispanic i dont know. the only thing i learned from that class, to realize which books are valuable and well recognized. we had read about 25 books that entire semester.
another course was honors economics, that class was fun!! the teacher was great! and had a real sense of humor, learned a lot and enjoyed the ride.
in language i had chosen ap spanish. even though i know spanish, there some hard parts in the course where i got stuck. but worth the ride.
my favorite ap course i ever took was ap calculus. i love mathematics!! so that one was tough, but really interesting to learn.
i remember i had even signed up on taking ap physics, but in the beginning of the first weeks, i was passing out wiht too much stress, so i ditched out of the class and changed to a regular chemestry course just to get it done and over with.
i know what you are talking about, its a real tough time in highschool. what i recommend you to do is, to drop off the afterschool job. its one of the most important periods in highschool and its better if you put all of your emphasis in this. you can get a part time job during xmas vacation, but i highly recommend you to stick only in studying. i never worked while i was in highschool, nor did i take college courses as well while iw as in highschool and just alone with ap courses up my back, i barely survivied....so take it easy and go step by step on your studying...
your a wise girl!! keep up the great work! your parents must extremly proud of having a daughter who is that organized and school smart! your next goal should be: valedictorian!
