Why is it, as a creationist, people seem to regard me as some sort of loony or idiot? I do understand science, I am perfectly rational and intelligent, so why do many people, including many Christians, not accept me or my view? It's in the Bible!
I ask this because of the nasty answers I recieved with my creationism in schools question.

I do understand science you know, seen as I gained a C grade in the stupid boring subject! So don't think I'm stupid.

Because the truth is offensive, and when its presented to a none believer it challenges their believes. They can't stand the Idea that they are teaching and being taught lies, and even though you bring up proof that their believe is wrong they have been so brainwashed by atheistic lies and false doctrines that there only defense is to just say "well you just don't understand science or your just a ignorant Christian." Either way the Bible tells us in:

2 Peter 3:5
For this they willingly are ignorant...

Thanks for the question God Bless.

I am also a creationist, who understands science, yet people who believe "nothing and nothing bang together and here we all are" continually tell me how I'm missing the point!

I would also like to point out that Christians who believe in evolution have no need to be Christians. If the bible lied in the beginning, it cannot be trusted everywhere else. If Adam is a metaphor, there is no original sin and no need for Jesus.

I believe in a six day creation, and I believe the science backs that up. May I suggest a site that will giveyou resources to logically back up your arguments using physics, geology and biology

I particularly recomend the book "Creation Science" by Dr Rosevear. Buy a lot of these books. I've had three and lent them out and never received them back, but I know that book has changed many peoples opinions.

Fab question!
All the best.

Well I find it funny you say you are perfectly rational and intelligent but accept Creationism just because it is in Bible, not exactly a very rational reason, BUT if that floats your boat then good for you.

Now as to your creationism in schools..that is a totally different subject. I don't know what question was but most are of the "it should be taught next to evolution" type and I cannot agree with that at all. Creationism is a religious idea and Evolution is a scientific one. Creationism should be taught in religion class and should not be allowed anywhere near science class since it has nothing scientific about it, just as evolution has nothing religious about it and should not be taught in religion class.

Now, in general, creationists tend to be touchy and belligerent in their views (not that I am saying evolutionists are not) so it could be people took your question as an attack to their beliefs.

I would need to see question b4 I could answer more fully

Because we have a lot of very smart people working on it, and the idea has been tested and re-tested, and every single test we can think to throw at the idea confirms the theory of evolution. There's no reason to believe in Creationism either, and I'll prove it to you:

Do you believe that the Earth is only 6,000 years old? Do you believe that cavemen went around hunting dinosaurs for food? Or do you believe that dinosaur fossils were put there by the devil? If you do believe these things, explain carbon dating (sorry, the Creationist arguments against it are 50 years old), explain why we haven't seen evidence of human tools used to kill dinosaurs yet. If you don't believe these things, then why make an exception for Creationism?

The truth is that you can believe in evolution and still be a good Christian - after all, what is a greater testament to God's genius than the mechanism of evolution? Seems a lot more elegant to me than just touching a pile of man-shaped dirt.

Need more? OK - the Catholics and the Orthodox believe in evolution. Think about that - the CATHOLIC Church, who denied that the Earth revolved around the sun!! If they believe in evolution, then why is it too good for you?

Society has been conditioned by years of stereotyping that Christians are stupid and that evolution is a fact. Science text books often repeat theories that have been falsified and even rejected by the science community, yet they still appear as "proof". Within the evolutionary community there has been great division over the years with the conflict becoming quite heated at moments. There are a growing number of prominent scientists who have become disillusioned and are questioning the commitment to materialist philosphosy as opposed to following the evidence where ever it leads. For anyone serious about wanting to challenge their beliefs I would recommend Lee Strobel's book The case for the creator. Lee is or was the legal editor for the Chicago tribune and a former atheist. Also I would recommend Phillip Johnson's books. He was a Law Professor and served under Chief Justice Earl Warren. He has a number of excellent books that credibly question much of what we have been fed.

Who cares? We will only know about it once we are dead. There is either an after life or there is not. We are either resurrected or we are not. We either turn into a corn flake or we do not. We either catch the tail of a comet or we do not.

No matter whether you are deeply religious to the insane exclusion of the facts, or so entrenched in science as to believe it offers the only truth - nobody knows, but everyone just believes. We believe in a god or we believe in science. I'll just live my life as best I can and if its all for nothing, at least I wont have any regrets. And if there is a god, then maybe I'll be in the good books somewhere!

As a "Creationist", you believe you are the result of Creation by intelligent design.

It means you have a Creator and therefore you have One to Whom to give accountability.

Those who are not creationists, mostly, believe they are the result of blind random trial and error, chance, and the descendants of pond slime. They do not believe there is anyone to whom (ultimately) they must give accountability.

It makes them feel uncomfortable.

==============================

Some assert:
We pity those who get their "truth" from a book written long ago by men who thought the world was flat and that disease was caused by demons

The truth is that, though those men might have thought the world was flat, yet by Inspiration they wrote about the Earth being a SPHERE. And certainly Dr. Luke, a physician, carefully distinguishes between disease that was of physical causes and conditions which were caused by demons.

The Bible tells you the answer to this question. Jesus said you are not of this world. So don't expect to be accepted by it. You are here only temporarily, if you are a Christian. You are right and they are wrong, so don't worry about it. Stand up for what you believe, JUST LIKE THEY DO!

Surely you have answered your own question. The fact that you derive your belief from a book written many generations ago by people who had no access to modern information is flawed. The same people would have written that the earth is flat, but do we still believe that? What about other religions? Are they deluded as well? As a previous response pointed out, all this is harmless if it is simply your belief, but please dont ever try to persuade others that it is a fact.

Did Noah build an Ark.......

If yes, did it have every species on it, to save them from the flood,

If yes, forgetting about the larger animals for a sec....how many species of insect in the world........millions

How many species of Reptiles in the world...........

Birds........... Fish............bacteria..........the food for these species, let alone the room, would be astronomical.

How big was this Boat?

There is a person in the Bible who lived to 900 years old, you believe that........that alone should give you a Bullshit alert..

If God said Bam, there you go, Earth is created........lovely jubbly,

Why would he put a beach 15000 feet up a mountain, with the fossilised bones of sea creatures in it....Look at how mountains are made, on the web somewhere, then use your logic and common sense.

The bible explains the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. That same one has blinded the minds of unbelievers. It requires a lot more faith to believe that life came about by Chance than to believe that life originated with an intelligent power source.
