Insert your bootable windows XP cd and boot off of it. When it asks you if you want to repair or install new choose install new. When you get to the screen to choose your install path choose to remove the partitions. Once you do this reboot the machine with the cd still in and install fresh copy.

No matter how you feel, the very best solution is to do it over again. (Unknown Registry Issues).

Disconnect your system from Internet!

Install Operating System deleting all partitions during install.

Create new partition 20GB, formant NTFS, complete installation.

After all drivers, software, anti virus are installed, connect to Internet. WWW.microsoft.com to complete installation.

you cannot and should not format the C partition
the best solution:
boot with the windows xp installed in C, then simply format the drive that other windows xp is installed in it.
