Usually a bridesmaid is at least 16, anything under that can be a "junior" bridesmaid.

A bridesmaid should be someone who can afford to be in the wedding and buy you a gift.. There are however, junior bridesmaids who can be anywhere from 8-15. They have the same dress as the bridesmaid, just in a girl's size.
Your bridesmaids shoudl be people you are close with and want to share your day with you. Just remember that the young girls won't be able to help you plan or coordinate things as much or spend tons of money on activities.

They most likely need to be 18 years old because at least two people have to be witnesses to most the marriage license and wedding but junior bridesmaids can be from about 9-14 they don't have to sign anything but still get the honor of a more mature job then flower girls.

any age you want. However if you or your maid of honor plans to throw you a bacholrette party then anyone under 21 or maybe 18 will feel left out if they want to take you to a strip club or any place that sells alcohol. So stick with 21 plus (unless you are under 21 too) or over 18. But if you arent worried about someone feeling left out then you can go as low as 13 i would say (called jr bridesmaid).

I really think it just depends on you. Some people have juinor bridesmaids. They should be old enough to take it seriously, and stand still thru the wedding. Little girls, I would say 10 and younger, are more like flower-girl age. But heck, its your wedding. Chances are, no one is really going to remember much from it, except you. Its going to be over quick, and quickly forgotten by most of your guests. Do what is right for you and your fiance. Do what is memorable for you guys.

A bridesmaid can be any age, but usually if she's still a child legally, we call her a junior bridesmaids. Young girls, say, under twelve, are often bridal attendants, sort of pretty assistants for the bride.

They can be how ever young you want them to be. If you have an 8 year old sister that you want to be a bridesmaid, then you should invite her to be one. A little girl would have fun getting all dressed up and participating in a wedding.

I was either 12 or 13 when I was a bridesmaid in my aunts wedding. I think around that age would be a good age to start.

I would say no yonger than thirteen because part of that role was originated for "eligible" unmarried girls (and at the time, the Ladies in Waiting)--typically, tennagers and older. But it's the 21st century, so I guess you could do whatever. But younger girls could have other roles, such as candle lighters, book attendants, miniature brides, or something like that.

The bride's maid should be a comprable age to the bride. In our modern society, people are getting married at all ages. So, it really is up to the bride. It is also OK to have married maids, but in that case they are a called bride matron not maid.
