Well, no offence, but it sounds like a lame excuse, but to answer the question, of course not. People go to hell for breaking the ten commandments like "thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife." which includes divorced persons (men and women). Getting a divorce is not recommended. People tend to think they can remarry. When we marry in a religious ceremony we usually take an oath that states "till death do we part." That means that even with civil divorce the two are still married in the eyes of God. Now if you were married in a civil marriage, the church does not recognise this as a marriage and so you are free to have a divorce and re-marry. But you have not committed grave sin by getting a divorce. The sin lies in whether you attempt to remarry. Good luck

in case you're so enthusiastic approximately going to hell because of this and you sense guilt from it, why no longer ask God to forgive you and bypass on with your existence. no person has the spectacular to assert which you will bypass to hell..that's God's interest...he's the only choose...I haven't any right to sentence you or anybody else..for Jesus stated, "ye without sin, forged the 1st stone."..I deffinately wont be throwing any stones.

Hey. The only people that go to Hell are nonbelievers. Do you believe in God? Then ask God to forgive you, forgive yourself, and move on. And if you don't believe in God, just ask for forgiveness and start living like a forgiven person! (but that don't mean you got to go back to that person!)
Be careful who you choose next time though! And make sure you still don't love this person if you get married again or it'll cause some nasty problems.

Of course God will forgive you. Butu cna't assume that u can go to Heaven without living ur life Holy like Jesus or by having a true and diligent relationshp with God. If u say oh im not going tohave sex until marriage or asy oh i wo't go to clubs and sutff and listen to secular music. But it all depends on that but also on how u are with God. Do u pray to Him? But back to ur question, um u cna't reammry beuase then you'll end up becoming an adulterer if u have sex with the guy that u remarry. U cna only divorce for marital unfaithfulness or if he or she died. But God doesn't approve of divorce just for not liking eachother. Then that meant that u really didn't like eachother or u just didn't wait long enough. God also said: According to Jesus, God's intention is for a marriage to last until, as we would say, "death do you part." Divorce is not part of God's original plan for marriages (Matt. 19:3-8). Jesus narrowed the Old Testament grounds for divorce from petty fault finding (Deut. 24:1-4) to a single condition (Matt. 5:31-32; 19:7-9).
According to Jesus, the one and the only legitimate ground for divorce is physical marital unfaithfulness, that is, any sort of physical sexual immorality, including but not restricted to adultery (Matt. 5:32). I say "physical" to distinguish what Jesus is saying from the sort of sexual immorality we can commit in our hearts. Sinning in our hearts is not a biblical ground for divorce. According to Jesus, for a man to divorce his wife for any reason other than sexual immorality (for example, incompatibility, "falling out of love") makes her an adulteress and her new husband an adulterer (Matt. 5:32; 19:9). The assumption behind these words is that the divorced wife will remarry and have sexual relations with her new husband, even though in God's eyes she is not legitimately divorced from her first husband.
Jesus gives what is called his famous "exception clause" here (Matt. 19:9). What is the meaning of porneia (NIV "marital unfaithfulness";
Hope i helped

Absolutely. You took sacred vows to remain together forever, through good times and bad. You will not be forgiven unless you repent.
...it's thoughts like that that drive me away from Christianity.

No - gosh I wish people would STOP worring about being condemmed - first things first ... it was the Christians who decided that EVERYONE should be married before any type of relationship is set forth - nature does not deem it that way ..
so don't worry okay ;-) if you feel you need to atone for this "sin" - FORGIVE YOURSELF ... thats truly the person you need to answer to ...

What kind of sin you commit has nothing to do with where you go, all sins must be forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. If you haven't confessed Jesus as your Lord, hen you will end up in Hell, divorced or not.

I can't be the one who says who goes to hell for what. But if it was on my heart to repent then I would do it. Then you wouldn't have any doubt. God bless.

I don't think that you will go to hell. But it does mean that your heart has been broken therefore you don't have as much of your heart to love god with. Its okay. He still loves you, and I'm sure you still love him, therefore your fine.
