the Doctor shone a light into my eyes and remarked that this was the worst migraine he had ever seen. How the hell can he 'see' my migraine or know how bad it is from looking into my eyes?

Migranes put preasure on the eye and by looking into the eye he can see that the preasure has increased. Good doc and good call.

It is complicated, but the doctor can tell a lot about your health by looking at your eyes. An eye specialist could of course tell you more than your GP could by checking your eyes. If the GP says you have trouble, you should believe them. If you want a second opinion, fine.

He didn't go into a lot of detail because he was busy with other
things, but I had a doctor tell me they can tell A LOT by looking
into your eyes. Hope you get a better answer than this, because
I'd like to know too.
