This is my second year at public school (i am in 8th grade) and homecoming is coming up last year i did not go with any body but this year I am going with one of the most popular guys in school. So here is my question: How does the whole mum and garder thing work? I have been wongering but can't figure it out; please explain everything in detail!

What i mean my mums is the things the guy gives the girl and it has ton's of ribbons and bows. And garters (sry didn't run spell check) the things guys wear on their arms.

mum and garter? do you mean bouteniere (spelling?) and corsage? well the girl buys the guy a bouteniere (the flower that usually goes on his jacket) and the guy buys her a corsage. (the small bouquet of flowers that goes around her wrist.) usually the bouteniere and the corsage need to be made to match the other person's outfit. for example, if you have a black dress, he should probably get you a white corsage. if he is wearing a black tux, roses work best for boutenieres. to get both of these made, you will have to visit a grocery store or flower shop and ask about them. they should know what you're talking about
and help you further.

I have no idea what you are saying. I've been to many a Homecomings, never a mum or garder...I'll be checking in to find out.
