Well, in most (Not all) a child has to be at least 12 in order to choose which parent they want to live with, but it still has to go to court to be decided by the judge if the custodial parent doesn't agree, and child support has to be changed. I would think that if a child is not wanting to see the other parent that they would have to talk to the judge about WHY they don't want to. If they have a valid reason I'm sure the courts would not force them to go.

Ok, I'm not really sure what the laws are, but I can tell you about my experience as a child. There was a time when we said that we didn't want to go to our father's anymore, but the courts ordered us to go b/c our dad was paying child support and they thought we were to young to make that decision on our own. I think it just depends on the childs age, maturity and where you live. Different situations are always different.

Sorry I couldn't help more.
Best wishes!

Is there something wrong with his father that you would not want him to spend time with him? If there is no problem then you should want him to spend time with him and it gives you some freedom to so things for yourself. A child needs both parents. A lawyer can not give you a age cause no one can answer that but you. He is his father let him spend time with his child.

I don't think there is an age... if the child wants to visit their dad... let them do so. but on the other hand, if the child don't want to, find out why. Dad's have rights too though.. You need to give more info here. I had to force my x to spend time with the kids. He kept trying to get out of it.
