I'm not a morning person and I find it really difficult to get up in the morning. But I LOVE COFFEE! I'm gonig to university on Saturday and will need to wake myself up somehow. So I'm taking a coffee filter machine and one of those timers for the socket. I'll set it to turn on the machine so the sound and smell of coffee wakes me up. Do you think it'll work?

I once tried waking myself up by setting the timer on my cd player to play Hot Chocolate's greatest hits at top volume. it seemed like a really good idea the night before. but i had a complete sense of humour failure when "you sexy thing" blared out at 7.30 in the morning. the coffee idea sounds much better.

As you know, I am the laziest woman in Britain, but somehow my body does wake at the right time, just buy a cheapo alarm clock for back up, in lots of time to enjoy your coffee. Just a thought, do you have any idea what Freshers week is all about? I guess you may love your coffee machine next week more than you will ever know Good luck xx

Okay, so you're not a 'morning person' and you LOVE COFFEE. Your plan is to get one of 'those timers for the socket', the plan being that the timer will click in, the coffee will start bubbling, its coffee-like effervescence will perculate around your nostrils, the minscule, unkown-to-modern-science tremulous electrical impulses will perculate up to that limbic, deep-engrained part of your grey matter (somewhere behind your forehead, though connected to deep parts within) and you will sniff, sniff, sniff-like a dog with the word COFFEE appearing on the screen of your consciousness. You will the crawl out of bed, your arms in front of you, heading for the kettle.
I have two alternative suggestions:
1: Get an alarm clock.
2: Get a partner with elbows.

They make machines with timers built in. You prepare the machine by putting in coffee, filter, and water then set the time like you would an alarm. Then, the machine starts itself at the time you told it to. Most machines with a built-in clock have this feature and are not that expensive.

It may wake you up but they make a coffee maker w/a timer in it. You could use an alarm clock or have someone phone you.

its a brill idea but the traditional alarm clock may be better. what escapes me is if you are going to uni why u need to get up in the morning anyway. students dont see the light of day till lunch time do they. i mean if you mention 7 am to a student they say " I didn't know 7 had an am!".

If you find it difficult to get up in the morning then you will wake up when the coffee has evaporated and the machine caught fire - the smoke alarms screaming or the arrival of the fire brigade will be your alarm call!!

Why don't you take an alarm clock (i know its radical, but hey, they work!!)

Sounds like a great ideal and if dont work you can buy a coffee pot with a timer built in. I have one and it works really well.
Good luck.

Instead of switching on the coffee machine, why don't you switch on the alarm clock. It is more safe than the other, which may cause overheating that may leads to serious fire. Think safety first, because safety is everyone's responsibilities.

this is not a problem!
did u not know that uni's now operate a night shift out-of-hours study rota!

for students unable to move a leg over the edge of the bed to balance and weight bear onto the floor in order to shift one's body into the prone position, to propel across the floor and make it into the bathroom - lol
