My local super market has 2 rows just for bottled water. if that was poured into local resovoir would, in my mind, fill it to the level that has normal years ago. If we go a mile down the road, 2 supermarkets with the same products. 100 mile radious!!! Enough to put the world sea level up 2 inches!!!!!! Its true. But to prove you disagree youd have to buy all that bottled water.

The number one use of water isn't hoses or showers, it's wasteful agricultural practices. Water across the world is not priced properly, which gives incentive to waste. Water shortages are a serious problem worldwide - to say otherwise is naive. As populations grow, as nations seek to develop more, and as global climate change takes hold it is very likely that we will see wars break out over this precious resource. And for those who think desalinization is the answer, why don't you take a moment and see how much energy is needed to go through that process. Reverse osmosis is not cheap...

Very remotely.

But on the contrary, after bottled water came into existence, did the people realize that water after all has some costs and value, and there is a price for water that is supposedly free as one can drink from a well, brook, spring, public tap. But I found water does not taste as good as I remember drinking as a child, whether tap or bottle, excepting beer of course.

No way the bottled water is like underground water as it is available until you drink it or waste it after that then maybe you can think about it causing water shortage. Its just like banking you money or giving it to someone for safe keeping, until its used its yours to use at any time.

What water shortage??? Maybe water shortage for California and for people who live in deserts.... But two thirds of the earths surface is covered in water that can be desalinated as needed. The whole concept of "water shortage" is a farce.

no. it idiot companies like severn trente who let a third of the water go to waste through leaks. then they have the nerve to start hose pipe bans, use this excuse to install water metres and then increase the water rates to help fix the leaks which they clearly dont do.

thats why there is a water shortage.

Now there's a thought! More and more people are drinking bottled water nowadays yet tap water is supposed to be better for you.

Is this a trick question? Of course not. If we weren't drinking bottled water, we would be drinking tap water instead. Are you serious?

What water shortage? The amount of water on the earth is finite.

its no more to blame than someone drinkin from the tap. Huge wastes of water is the main reason such as hosepipes and baths.
